Nintendo Direct Mini: Everything That Was Announced

Nintendo Direct Mini: everything That Was Announced

Nintendo aired its Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase event today and announced some new titles and additions to current games.

First up was a wide expansion to the tech giant’s Cadence Of Hyrule: NecroDancer Feat. The Legend Of Zelda. The game, which launched June last year, will receive three DLC packs, the first of which was released today.

The additional two packs will release before October this year and together will offer players a new story expansion focusing on Skull Kid, five new characters, and 39 new songs. A season pass featuring all three DLC packs can also be bought today.

Following this, the Nintendo Direct announced Rogue Company for the Nintendo Switch. The game is an online multiplayer third-person shooter published by Hi-Rez Studios which will also release on Windows, Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4. It will reportedly support cross-platform play as well as cross-progression.

Nintendo shared a trailer for WWE 2K Battlegrounds, a WWE-themed brawler starring some of the most well-known wrestlers including John Cena, The Rock, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. The title will also released on PS4, Xbox One, Windows, and Google Stadia.

Nintendo finished the Direct Mini by announcing an HD remaster of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, a PlayStation 2 game from 2003. The remaster, which is also launching on the PS4, will include updated visuals and will release in early 2021.

Finally, the Nintendo Direct Mini featured an announcement for Shin Megami Tensei V which will launch in 2021. The RPG will be set in modern-day Tokyo and feature returning gameplay mechanics from previous titles.

Nintendo Direct Mini’s Fan Backlash

When Nintendo announced the Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, it explained that the broadcast will feature third-party titles from its development and publishing partners. Nintendo also announced that the Direct is the first of many but did not share any additional details.

Despite the warning, fans still held high hopes and many were left disappointed by the news. Many had expected announcements for Animal Crossing: New Horizons updates, information on the upcoming The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild sequel, and announcements of new titles.

It was widely rumoured that Nintendo was planning on airing a large broadcast where it would announce a plethora of titles including a supposed Super Mario Collection including Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy.

It seems we’ll have to wait a while longer before Nintendo confirms the collection as well as additional upcoming titles. Stay tuned for more news on Nintendo and more.
