Elden Ring talismans are items that can be equipped for a variety of effects, such as boosting your stats, reducing damage, improving your attacks, and fleshing out builds. With so many to find in the game, we thought we’d list all Elden Ring talismans and note their locations for you, as well as cover how many talismans are in Elden Ring in total.

How Many Talismans Are In Elden Ring?

There are a total of 117 talismans in Elden Ring, including Legendary talismans and improved versions – referred to as +1 and +2 in the game. The improved versions of talismans offer stronger effects over their original counterpart but in most cases are harder to find than the original copies. 

Please note that if you’re looking to unlock all achievements or trophies for Elden Ring, you’re going to need to acquire all Legendary talismans. Ordinary talismans are not required for a trophy, only the Legendary talismans.

How To Unlock Talisman Pouch

If you’ve just started Elden Ring, you may have noticed that you can’t equip any talismans. That’s because you need to unlock the Talisman Pouch by defeating one of the game’s first major bosses; Margit, The Fell Omen. Defeating the boss, found at the entrance of Stormveil Castle, rewards you with Runes and the Talisman Pouch, allowing you to equip two talismans.

However, defeating Margit is no easy objective; he’s aggressive and hits hard. Before trying to take the Elden Ring boss on, we suggest you explore Limgrave more, acquire weapons and figure out which work best for you, collect upgradeable resources, and take on some of the bosses located out in the field, in catacombs, and caves to level up. 

Only once you’ve explored most of the Limgrave region, including its Weeping Peninsula, Mistwood, and Stormhill sub-regions, should you try and take the dangerous boss on.

Unlocking More Talisman Slots

After defeating Margit, The Fell Omen, you’ll only have two talisman slots, so you’ll need to choose carefully from the game’s total. However, throughout Elden Ring, you can acquire additional talisman pouches, allowing you to equip up to a maximum of four talismans. The additional talisman pouches can be acquired as follows:

• After acquiring two Great Runes and speaking with Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold OR purchasing the pouch from the Twin Maiden Husks’ shop.
• After defeating Godfrey, First Elden Lord in Leyndell, the Royal Capital located on the Atlus Plateau. 

Once you’ve defeated Margit and acquired the other two talisman pouches, you’ll be able to equip four Elden Ring talismans – just choose wisely!
