THQ Nordic, South Park Digital Studios, and developer Question Games have today released a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming co-op game South Park: Snow Day.
The upcoming title, a departure from the previous RPG-based games, follows the New Kid as they join Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny and celebrate a snow day, although it quickly turns into an adventure to save the town from the blizzard that’s blanketed the town.
The minute-and-a-half trailer offers a closer look at the game’s combat and 3D visuals, as well as some of the story you’ll get to experience.
Snow Day is a continuation of the previous South Park games, utilising the fantasy theme from South Park: The Stick Of Truth and its predecessor episode trilogy from season 17 of the show, but it’s the first modern South Park game to allow co-op play.
You can play alone or with up to three friends or AI, working together to defeat hordes of foes and epic bosses with melee and ranged weapons, special abilities, and “powerful, coordinated attacks” with your allies.
The game also gives you the opportunity to customise your New Kid with numerous cosmetics, although there’s no confirmation whether said cosmetics are microtransactions or earned in-game.
South Park: Snow Day launches in 2024 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles for £24.99/€29.99/$29.99.
