Sony has announced a sequel to its 2017 hit Horizon Zero Dawn.
The sequel, titled Horizon Forbidden West will follow Aloy as she heads out across America which has been ravaged by strange storms.
Footage from the PS5 showcase featured new robotic enemies including what looks like elephant-inspired machines. The reveal also included underwater gameplay in which Aloy explores underwater structures. If that isn’t enough to excite you, there were glimpses of various US landmarks in the video including San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.
The announcement ended with a sneak peek of Sylens who seems to be infecting machines with the aid of several followers. No release date was announced but Guerilla Games developers confirmed that we can expect to hear more details about the game in the coming weeks, and we can’t wait.
Also announced at the PS5 game showcase were games Resident Evil: Village, Hitman 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and plenty more. Right at the end of the event, Sony officially unveiled its PS5 console in two sleek variations.
