How to solve the Hogwarts Legacy bridge puzzle
Hogwarts Legacy is filled with numerous puzzles in and around the castle. One of the puzzles you’ll encounter early on can be found within Hogwarts itself, on a bridge with multiple braziers. Solving it unlocks a secret area under the bridge linking the Library Annex of the castle with the Great Hall section, and it provides you with some great gear too.
Solving The Hogwarts Legacy Bridge Puzzle
To solve the bridge puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll need to have learnt the Incendio fire spell, which you’ll unlock during the main story chapter Find The Secret In The Restricted Section after completing Professor Hecat’s first assignment.
Once you’ve learnt the spell, return back to the bridge. You’ll find a grate on the bridge with Roman numerals and unique symbols, which correspond to the symbols found on each of the four braziers.
You’ll need to match each brazier with its Roman numeral by using the symbols on the grate. Simply light all of the braziers with Incendio and interact with them to rotate the Roman numeral displayed on the brazier, until you have the following:
- The triangle with six lines matches with Roman numeral I
- The two circles with a line running through them matches with Roman numeral II
- The triangle with a circle and a line matches with Roman numeral III
- The diamond with a large X running through it matches with Roman numeral IV
Once all four braziers have been matched with their Roman numeral, a short cutscene will play where the golden grate opens, unlocking a ladder to the aqueduct below, where you can find several chests filled with gear.
