The Last Of Us 2 Becomes UK’s Fastest-selling Boxed PS4 Game

Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us Part 2 has become the UK’s fastest-selling boxed PS4 game.

GamesIndustry.Biz reports that the action-horror video game, which released June 19th, 2020, has beaten Uncharted 4, the previous record-holder, by 1% making it the fastest-selling boxed game for this generation in the UK.

However, the sales figures do not include digital sales, suggesting that the game’s official sales are much higher. The report also reveals that Part 2 has outsold its predecessor The Last Of Us by 76% at launch.

Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons previously held the record for the UK’s fast-selling boxed launch for this year but The Last Of Us Part 2 has beaten the record by 40%.

The official UK sales chart for the past week places Nintendo’s Ring Fit Adventure for the Switch in second place, following by FIFA 20, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, COD: Modern Warfare, and GTA 5 in sixth place. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has fallen off the top 10 sales chart despite previously topping the chart.
