These Are The Best Deals In PlayStation’s November 2023 Indie Sale

PlayStation has discounted hundreds of titles as part of its November 2023 indie sale, running until November 29th. With so many to skim through, I thought I’d round up some must-play titles, with something for everyone! Check out my suggestions below with links to the store pages as well as some details on each game.

Dredge

Take on the role of an angler in Lovecraftian horror game Dredge. Explore a collection of islands in search of fish and resources, and sell them to locals to upgrade your trawler, all while avoiding the sea’s Eldritch abominations and completing quests to uncover the mysteries related to each island and how they tie to your past.

You can also grab the Blackstone Key add-on, which unlocks the mysterious workshop on Blackstone Isle, providing you with access to some great upgrades: the Arterial Engine and the Sign Of Ruin.

Don’t forget to read my review of Dredge, which I described as a “moreish video game that you’ll want to keep playing into the early hours of the morning”.

Cult Of The Lamb Cultist Edition

Build a loyal cult as a lamb saved from death by a mysterious entity in this action roguelike and management sim. Embark on quests to collect resources, recruit followers, and take on the heretics that challenge your cult, while simultaneously building your flock, decorating your base, constructing structures to keep followers happy, and performing rituals and sermons to keep them brainwashed enlightened.

The Cultist Edition includes the base game and the Cultist Pack of seven decorations and five exclusive Follower forms.

Hello Neighbor Bundle

The Hello Neighbor Bundle includes the original game, tasking you with sneaking into your neighbour’s house to discover the secret he’s hiding in his basement, all without getting caught, as well as its prequel Hello Neighbor: Hide And Seek, which tells the story of the Neighbor’s family through a game of hide-and-seek.

Hello Neighbor 2 Deluxe Edition

A sequel to Hello Neighbor which places you in the shoes of an investigative journalist looking to discover the dark secrets of the residents of the town of Raven Brooks, and uncover the truth behind the case of Mr Peterson, the first game’s antagonist. Explore the entire town and sneak around to uncover secrets, all while trying to outsmart the town’s AI-driven residents.

Cities: Skylines – Premium Edition 2

Build your dream city and manage its services, transportation, finances, and citizens’ happiness in city builder and management sim Cities: Skylines. The second Premium Edition includes the base game with the Green Cities, Parklife, and Industries expansions, as well as the European Suburbia content pack and Country Road, All That Jazz, and Synthetic Dawn radio stations.

Limbo and Inside Bundle

The Limbo and Inside bundle includes both games – noire side-scrollers that see you direct children by evading enemies and various dangerous environments and traps. Both titles have earned a lot of praise for their art style, gameplay, creepy atmosphere, and soundtracks. Well worth a buy.

Trek To Yomi

Trek To Yomi is a side-scrolling action game set during the Edo period of feudal Japan, and it follows swordsman Hiroki as he embarks on a quest to the Japanese underworld Yomi in search of revenge on those who attacked his home village. Enjoy stylish but challenging combat, visuals that harken back to classic samurai films, and a memorable score that pays homage to feudal Japan.

FAR: Changing Tides

Explore a post-apocalyptic world as Toe, a boy searching for a brand-new home. Navigate the flooded world, survive intense storms and high seas, and repair and maintain your ship and solve various puzzles that feed directly into the game’s emotional narrative.

Call Of The Sea

Set in 1934, the game follows Norah as she embarks to the South Pacific on a search for her missing husband but stumbles upon a mysterious island that was previously home to a lost civilisation. Uncover the island’s secrets, solve puzzles, and learn the truth about Norah’s husband’s expedition in this emotional journey.

Deliver Us The Moon

Deliver Us The Moon is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller that follows a lone astronaut as they’re sent to the moon to aid Earth after the planet’s natural resources have been depleted. Swapping between first and third-person, solve puzzles and complete actions to determine your fate, as well as that of the Earth’s.

Bugsnax

A former PlayStation 5 launch title, Bugsnax whisks you away to the dangerous Snaktooth Island, which is home to the mysterious half-bug, half-snack creatures known as Bugsnax. While there, you’ll have to uncover the mystery surrounding explorer Elizabert Megafig’s disappearance, befriend the various residents of Snaktooth Island by completing quests, and capture (and eat) as many Bugsnax as you can.

Hotline Miami Collection

The Hotline Miami Collection includes both neon-themed challenging games from Dennaton Games. Set in an alternative 1989 Miami, the original top-down shooter sees you follow coded messages and take down difficult targets. The sequel, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, acts as the conclusion to the franchise, set after the events of the first game where you follow the paths of several factions as they come face-to-face with the consequences of their actions.

Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition

Oddworld: Soulstorm is the latest entry in the Oddworld series. With society on the brink of revolution, the game tasks you with controlling Abe as he leads Mudokons to safety from their exploitation. Face enemies and use the side-scrolling game’s new looting and crafting mechanics to give Abe an advantage, while also collecting Moolah to purchase items and helping as many Mudokons as possible.

The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition

A narrative-based puzzle game, The Talos Principle sees you take control of a robot with human consciousness to explore a series of environments with countless puzzles in a world filled with ancient ruins and advanced technology. Choose your path, face technology, and uncover the truth about the world’s past.

AK-xolotl

AK-xolotl is a top-down roguelike shooter where you play as AK-wielding Axolotls. Explore numerous biomes and shoot down anything that stands in your way, including challenging bosses, as you attempt to conquer regions and raise infantile Axolittles, transforming them into killing machines, by finding eggs.

Undertale

A 2D RPG that follows a child who, after falling under the surface of the Earth, must journey back to the planet’s surface while avoiding, killing or befriending monsters. Explore the Underworld and uncover its secrets, and make choices that impact the game’s plot as well as your morality.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and Dimension Shellshock Bundle

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a pixel-designed, side-scrolling beat ’em-up game based on the 1987 TMNT television show. Take control of each of the turtles, April O’Neil, Master Splinter, and Casey Jones, as they combat Foot Clan soldiers, Shredder, Krang, and Bebop and Rocksteady across various locations, including Dimension X and New York City. The bundle includes the main game as well as the Dimension Shellshock DLC, adding Usagi and Karai as playable characters, a survival mode, and more.

Humanity

Humanity is a puzzle platformer that sees you take on the role of a Shiba Inu, who has been charged with guiding gigantic crowds of people to salvation by directing them around obstacles. Force the crowd to walk, climb, and jump, or simply shoot and float them to their destination. There are unlockable skills to help you, boss fights, and the ability to try other players’ levels or create your own.

Mortal Shell Enhanced Edition

Mortal Shell is a Souls-like that tasks you with utilising the Shells of defeated warriors and using their abilities to explore a world overcome by death and face challenging enemies and bosses. The Enhanced Edition includes the base game with remastered visuals, 4K resolution, and 60 frames-per-second support.

Return To Monkey Island

Return To Monkey Island is the latest instalment in the Monkey Island series, following the game’s last release from 1991. The point-and-click adventure game sees you explore the vast locations of Melee Island, Terror Island, and Brrr Muda, and tasks you with making friends and enemies, while surviving as a pirate. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can enjoy a one-hour trial of the game.

I Am Bread

I Am Bread sees you take on the role of a slice of bread and embark on a journey to become a slice of toast. To do so, you’ll need to navigate dangerous environments – the living room, the kitchen or the garden – and avoid obstacles. Enjoy several game modes and play as various types of bread, all while trying to beat records.

Lake

Lake whisks you back in time to 1986, where you take on the role of Meredith Weiss, who, after returning to her quiet hometown of Providence Oaks from the big city, takes on her father’s former job as the local mail carrier. Befriend the residents of Providence Oaks and form romantic relationships, all while making decisions to determine her life: will Meredith return to the city or form a chilled life in Providence Oaks?
