Sony PlayStation has announced The Nioh Collection for PS5 and PC.

Action-RPG franchise Nioh is celebrating its fourth anniversary next year and in celebration, Sony PlayStation has announced that it will be releasing several new titles including The Nioh Collection, a bundle featuring remastered versions of Nioh and Nioh 2.

Sony announced the news in a post by developer Team Ninja on the official PlayStation blog, revealing that The Nioh Collection will include all DLC. It will support 4K resolution, up to 120 frames-per-second gameplay, as well as ultra-fast load times and the ability to transfer save data from PS4 consoles.

In addition to The Nioh Collection, Sony also announced that it will be releasing several other titles to allow users regardless of platform to access and play the Nioh franchise. The titles include Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition for PS4, and both Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition and Nioh Remastered – The Complete Edition for PS5.

As explained by Sony, Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition on PlayStation 4 will allow users who have yet to purchase the base title to “experience the comprehensive Nioh 2 story” as well as all three DLC expansions.

Meanwhile, users who have purchased a PlayStation 5 console can purchase Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition and Nioh Remastered – The Complete Edition both of which include all DLC for their respective titles.

All PS5 titles will support 4K resolution on compatible monitors, support up to 120 frames-per-second, as well as ultra-fast load times, cross-gen multiplayer, and the ability to transfer data from PlayStation 4 consoles and continue with saves.

All titles will release on February 5th, 2021, and pre-orders will release on Friday, November 20, 2020. Some of the titles will also offer free upgrade paths from PS4 to PS5 depending on which games you’ve purchased.

Anyone who owns Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition and on PS4 can upgrade to Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition for free, and anyone who owns Nioh 2 on PS4 can upgrade to the base game Nioh 2 Remastered on PS5 and claim PS5 versions of any DLC expansions they own on PS4.

However, Sony notes that Nioh 2 Remastered base game and Nioh 2 PS5 DLC expansions cannot be purchased individually.

Celebrating the Nioh franchise, Team Ninja Creative Director Tom Lee said in the blog post: “On behalf of Team Ninja, I want to express our sincere gratitude for supporting the Nioh series and our team through this long and wonderful ride.

“As a token of appreciation, we thought there was no better way to celebrate the Nioh series, one very near and dear to our hearts, than remastering the entire story for both veterans and new players alike to enjoy utilising the latest hardware.”

He adds: “So, gather your best gear, hone your skills and perfect your build one more time as you prepare to unleash your darkness on a multitude of brutal bosses and fierce fiends that await you in the voyage ahead. The time is near to experience the thrilling conclusion to the Nioh 2 saga. Thanks again my ninjas and samurai, it’s been an honour!”

All new Nioh titles will launch February 5th, 2021. You can watch the trailer for The Nioh Collection below:
