Horror Game Martha Is Dead Gets February 2022 Release Date

Martha Is Dead

Developer LKA and publisher Wired Productions have announced that horror game Martha Is Dead is releasing in February 2022.

The game is a first-person psychological thriller set in Italy in 1944 during the Second World War. It follows Giulia, the young daughter of a German soldier, whose twin sister Martha is dead. Giulia must deal with the loss of her sister, the fallout of her murder, and embarks on a quest to discover the truth about Martha’s death.

Developer LKA has said Martha Is Dead is an exploration of loss and relationships with psychological undertones of a dark period of history, and it’s a game that “blurs the lines between reality, superstition and the tragedy of war”.

The game sees you explore the breathtaking countryside of Tuscany on foot, by boat or by bike. Players can collect newspapers, telegrams and listen to the radio to keep updated on the war, and Giulia can play with dolls in puppet theatres to remember repressed memories.

Martha Is Dead is the first indie game to launch using the native Italian language as the default setting, offering full immersion into the story and characters.

The game is set to release on PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Martha is Dead supports DualSense controller features on PlayStation 5 consoles; players can feel Giulia’s heartbeat during intense moments, feel her footsteps across different terrain, and take photographs with the controller’s adaptive triggers.

Martha Is Dead will release on February 24th, 2022, and you can watch the game’s new trailer below:
