Indie survival horror Chernobylite will be getting a free new-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles this April.

Developer The Farm 51 and publisher All in! Games have today (February 1st) announced that the new-gen versions of Chernobylite will launch digitally on April 21st alongside the release of the PC Enhanced Version, a physical PS5 copy, and the game’s first DLC, Blue Flames.

According to reports, the PC Enhanced Edition and the PS5 and Xbox Series version of the game will all be available as a free upgrade for existing users or can be purchased separately. The new versions of the game will support ray tracing along with two game modes; dynamic 4K resolution at 30 frames-per-second or 1080p resolution at 60 frames-per-second.

Meanwhile, the PS5 version of the game will support the DualSense’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, as well as the console’s Activity Cards.

As mentioned, the game’s first DLC, Blue Flames, will release alongside the new versions of Chernobylite. It’s the first of four downloadable content and will be available on all platforms. The DLC includes a free content upgrade with Memories Of You, a new weapon in the Silent Assassin crossbow, and a paid content pack too.

The game follows Ukrainian physicist Igor Khymynuk who ventures into the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone to find his fiancée. While there, players must face the harsh and unforgiving environment, gather resources and tools, and take on hostile military personnel along with Stalkers and mysterious creatures.
