Xbox Series X To Launch November 2020

Microsoft has confirmed that its Xbox Series X console will launch in November 2020.

In a bombshell announcement today, Microsoft and 343 Industries announced their decision to delay Halo Infinite to 2021 despite it being planned to release as a launch title for the Series X.

In a new announcement, Microsoft confirmed that the next-gen console will launch in November. In a blog post, Will Tuttle revealed that the console will launch with thousands of games to play even without Halo Infinite.

Addressing the delay of Halo Infinite, Will Tuttle said: “Our vision at Xbox and 343 Industries has always been to deliver the most ambitious Halo game ever for our fans, while also balancing the team’s well-being. To do that, we will need some more time to finish the critical work necessary to launch Halo Infinite, which will come in 2021.

“We have plenty to keep you busy until Chief arrives: There will be thousands of games to play, spanning four generations, when Xbox Series X launches globally this November and over 100 optimised for Xbox Series X titles, built to take full advantage of our most powerful console, are planned for this year.”

Xbox Series X: Features And Games

Tuttle then touched on the console’s features, explaining that the console will feature “hardware-accelerated Direct X raytracing, framerates up to 120 frames-per-second, faster loading times, and Quick Resume for multiple games”.

Later on in the post, Tuttle reiterated that over 50 new games are planned for this year for Xbox consoles, most of which have been optimised for the Series X console. He then touched on games releasing next year with Xbox Game Pass, and the already-released titles that have been optimised for the upcoming console.

Tuttle ended the post by expressing excitement at the console’s launch later this year, saying: “Whether you’ve played for years or have just recently picked up a controller, we can’t wait for you to see and feel the first big step into gaming’s next generation with Xbox Series X this November.”
