Capcom has announced that it will be releasing new-gen upgrades for Resident 7 and the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes.

The new-gen upgrades were announced on the official Resident Evil Twitter, in which Capcom revealed that the upgrades will be released later this year for PS5 and Xbox Series S and X consoles.

Capcom’s tweet revealed that the new upgrades will include visual enhancements, and users who currently own a PS4 and Xbox One copy of the game will receive a digital upgrade for free.

Reports suggest that the new upgrades will include ray-tracing and 3D audio support, as well as improved frame rates. Users on PlayStation 5 consoles will also benefit from haptic feedback via the DualSense controller.

Currently, the two titles can only be played via backwards compatibility on all consoles. The games are available for PC too, and PC players will also receive a free upgrade patch.

No release date has been confirmed for the new-gen upgrades, but we can expect some more news in the coming months.
